The successful applicant will assume responsibilities in research and teaching in the area named above.
Appointment requirements are governed by Article 102a of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz).
Candidates will have a strong and recognized profile in the area of Early Childhood Education Research with a focus including gender relations. The research focus will be aligned with at least one of existing key areas, including the developmental impact of ECEC quality, professional development of early childhood professionals, approaches to support the quality of the home learning environment, and international approaches of Early Childhood Education and Care. The selectees will have an outstanding track record of research activities and university teaching (preferably internationally). Applicants should also have experience conducting grant-sponsored research.The appointee will be prepared to closely collaborate with colleagues of the division of Early Childhood Education of different disciplines, the other divisions of the Department and of other departments of Freie Universität Berlin in order to connect to regional, national, and international research alliances and research foci. The appointee will be ready to assume an active role in the joint research projects of the Department. The junior professor will be appointed as a civil servant for an initial period of three years. Reappointment is contingent upon positive evaluation of performance and may be extended for three more years.
