Project Description

What enables persons to make systematic and well-founded decisions in terms of sustainable development in complex situations? This constitutes a focal question with regard to the national educational standards for the subject biology. The project aims to provide a fundament for the theoretically derived Göttingen model of assessment competence. Accordingly, competence assessment consists of four different dimensions:

  • knowing and understanding sustainable development
  • knowing and understanding values and norms
  • generating and reflecting factual information
  • assessing, deciding and reflecting

In how far can we identify indicators of these different competences? What are the relationships between the competences? How can the competence of assessment be represented in a cognitive diagnostic model? The core of the project is the psychometric modeling of the competence of assessment and its different dimensions respectively, their validation and the development of appropriate measurement procedures.
