Object Play in Orangutans (Pongo abelii)
Researchers confronted non-human primates with human toys to find out more about the origin of toy preferences of human infants. It has never been investigated, however, due to which features objects are selected. Thus, I want to investigate in my master thesis whether primates choose objects with certain features over others. Therefore, I confront orangutans with a preference test in which objects differ in shape (movement), texture and colour. I combine my data with behavioural observations.
