Open science is a burgeoning movement that aims at making the process of scientific inquiry more transparent and reproducible. Freie Universität Berlin has established a research-oriented open science course in 2017. The "Open Science Workshop" served as a final colloquium of the course and as a university-wide platform for discussing open science related issues, such as reproducibility and open access. The workshop featured both presentations by distinguished speakers with a long track record of supporting the open science movement as well as student project presentations that were part of the open science course. The aim of the workshop was to provide an overview of contemporary approaches to open science and its incorporation into a research-oriented university teaching syllabus. The workshop was open to all members of Berlin's universities. Workshop attendance was free.
