Personality Psychology

Seminar with a specific focus on fear and anxiety as a personality trait. The goal of the seminar is to answer the following questions: How does fear evolve according to various psychological paradigms? Are there cultural differences? How does fear display itself in social interactions and specific situations? Are there positive consequences of being afraid? Where can we draw the line between normal and pathological anxiety?

Qualitative Assessment Methods

Seminar about interview methods and behavior observation techniques as important data collection procedures within the diagnostic process. Practical examples of various application areas are used to convey skills and knowledge on the execution and assessment of these procedures in accordance to scientific standards. Furthermore, basic knowledge of the occupational assessment standards DIN 33430 are introduced.

Basics of Psychological Assessment

This Seminar is accompanying the main lecture on Psychological Assessment. Practical examples are being worked on using the statistics program R. Topics: Item Response Theory, Classical Test Theory, Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis.
