Neural Dynamics of Visual Cognition
I am currently a highschool student at the Rosa-Luxemburg-Gymnasium in Berlin. I joined the lab as an intern in May 2022 under the supervision of Alessandro Gifford and Pablo Oyarzo.
My current plan is to study electrical engineering and information technology, followed by medicine. While it is my mid term goal to study the brain and the possibilities of BCI, my long term ambition is to become an astronaut. Because of that, I engage in many programs for both fields, the next one being a rocket engineering program in Norway supported by a scholarship from the European Space Agency.
I am a member of the Humboldt University student society for classical studies and physics.
In my free time, I enjoy playing the guitar, composing, drawing, diving, climbing, participating in Hackathons and being around people in general.
General research interest:
My goal is to predict neural activity to visual stimuli and the frequency of an auditive wave by utilizing Deep Neural Networks. At the same time, I am also interested in reconstructing parts of the visual and auditive sensation by developing a model that can decode data collected by an EEG or other non-invasive measurement tools.
Together with Alessandro and Pablo, we collect EEG data of the neural response to seeing naturalistic videos. Additionally, we will perform analyses to the EEG data and build an encoding model.
