“On the origins of artistic behaviour and aesthetic universals”
My PhD project dealt with the question, which visual preferences played a role in the production and composition of tools and other objects, manufactured by antecedents of homo sapiens. Three eye-tracking studies, in cross-cultural and cross-species comparisons, analyzed the visual and aesthetic preferences for symmetrical patterns, marked objects and colours in combination with auditory stimuli.
