Digitalisation in Early Childhood Education: Pedagogical Beliefs and Motivations as Success Factors for Implementing in Pedagogical Practice

Digital assets are nowadays part of the life of every family and kid in Germany.
There is great potential but also challenges in the usage of digital assets for early childhood education.

DIGIPaed is funded by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung under grant number 01JD1807, guideline "Digitalisation in education - Baseline considerations and criteria for success".
The study consists of three sub-studies that involve early childhood professionals in Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Bremen, and Saxony-Anhalt. This is intended to capture the beliefs and attitudes of professionals as well as the use of ICT in the educational field as comprehensively as possible.

|A cross-sectional, nationwide survey study provides insight into medium-term stable beliefs, motivations, and aspects of implementation.||A diary study will investigate the stability of guiding beliefs and implementation over a period of several weeks.||A qualitative document analysis of daycare professional journals identifies shared beliefs of the professional discipline regarding the use of digital media in early childhood education institutions.|
