Bachelor's survey

The evaluation of the bachelor's degree programs has been a regular component of quality management at Freie Universität Berlin since 2006. Here  you can find the reports (in German only).

When is the survey conducted?

The Bachelor’s Survey is conducted on a four-year cycle and alternates with the Master’s Survey. This means that a survey takes place every two years during the summer semester, as shown in the figure below.

What is covered by the questionnaire?

The questionnaire focuses on assessments of the design of the study program and the support services offered. Both aspects are key factors influencing the program´s manageability and students’ overall satisfaction and thus decisive aspects for quality assurance. The questionnaire also contains open-ended questions to give students the opportunity to present their assessment of certain aspects in a more differentiated manner.

In particular, data are collected on the following aspects:

  • student satisfaction with the study programs and study conditions, assessment of the structure and organization of the study programs as well as their studyability
  • Assessment of the study areas General professional skills courses (Allgemeine Berufsvorbereitung,ABV) and Teaching-related professional studies (Lehramtsbezogene Berufswissenschaft, LBW)
  • Utilization and evaluation of counseling, and support services.
  • Study behavior and study experiences, identification of reasons for delays in studies (e.g., problems with study and examination organization)
  • Individual prerequisites and living conditions
