Research
The junior professorship for work and organizational psychology focuses on research in the areas of stress, employee well-being, and work design.
We are particularly interested in understanding how and why people experience work-related stress. In this context, we explore the inter- and intra-individual factors that influence the perception and evaluation of stressful work situations.
Additionally, we examine the consequences of stressful working conditions, including, but not limited to, their impact on employees’ well-being. A specific area of interest is how managers make decisions about employee work design when they themselves are under stress.
Lastly, we are committed to finding ways to help employees deal better with work-related stress. To this end, we develop and evaluate online-based stress interventions aiming to change stress-related cognitions.
To investigate these research topics, we employ experience sampling methods (quantitative daily diary studies), longitudinal studies, and online experiments.
