I joined the lab in October 2020 and officially started my PhD in December 2020. I studied psychology at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I did internships on topics ranging from neurological patients to dog behaviour. After deciding to focus on cognitive neuroscience I did my MSc in the Neural & Behavioural Sciences program at the University of Tübingen.

In my free time I enjoy reading while enjoying a cup of tea, going out for walks around the city, travelling and going to concerts (mostly travelling to attend concerts!).

General research interests

The general topic of my PhD is visual mental imagery, that is, how people create images in their “mind’s eye”. I intend to study its spatio-temporal dynamics by combining different methods (e.g. EEG and fMRI) with data analysis techniques such as MVPA and RSA in different human populations.

My PhD scholarship is funded by the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (German Academic Exchange Service - DAAD) from December 2020 till November 2024.

Research projects

My current project tackles the question of how the visual imagery process evolves in time. In this experiment, subjects either view or imagine a set of pictures while we record brain activity with EEG. Data is then analysed by locking EEG activity to either the start of the trial, or in the case of imagery, to the end of the trial, when imagery is subjectively reported as most vivid.

The next step - running a similar fMRI experiment - will allow me to incorporate data that is better suited to answer the question of where imagery occurs in the brain. Combining the two data sets with representational similarity analysis will give us a more complete picture of the visual imagery process.

Student supervision & opportunities

Am I currently not looking for interns but feel free to email me if you’re interested in the projects mentioned above.
