Bachelor's program in Psychology

Lecture "Work, Organizational and Economic Psychology II"

Description: The lecture introduces key theories, concepts, and empirical findings in organizational and economic psychology – focusing on human experience and behavior in organizational and economic contexts. The organizational psychology section covers topics such as organizational theories, communication, teamwork, conflict, leadership, organizational culture, and change management. The economic psychology section addresses market research, advertising effects, rationality, emotions, and financial decision-making processes. In addition, topics such as disinformation, sustainability, inequality, civic behavior, and public policy are considered.

Seminar "Identity, Language, and Leadership in the Political Context"

Description: In this seminar, we examine social psychological research in political contexts. We address central topics such as social identity, leadership, social inequality, and activism. A particular focus is placed on the role of language as a means of political action, as well as on computer-assisted methods of language analysis in social psychology. Participants prepare relevant academic literature, which is critically reflected upon and discussed in the seminar. In a practical project phase, students independently analyze phenomena related to social identity and leadership using speeches from the German parliament (Deutscher Bundestag).

Master's program in Psychology

Seminar "Psychological and Behavioral Science for the World"

Description: How can human experience and behavior in organizations, the economy, and politics be better understood – and effectively changed? This two-semester project seminar integrates perspectives from social, organizational, and economic psychology with behavioral economics. In the first semester, we explore classic and current research literature, discussing theories, methods, and findings in a critical, interactive, and practice-oriented way (including pro-and-con debates, role plays, and case studies). In the second semester, participants develop their own research and intervention concepts addressing real-world challenges – ranging from organizational issues to major societal questions – and demonstrate how psychological and behavioral science can help make the world a little better.
