Pia Schröder is a PhD student in the Neurocomputation and Neuroimaging Unit under the direction of Felix Blankenburg where she investigates the neural basis of tactile perception. In her research, she uses neuroimaging methods and computational models to understand how tactile stimuli are processed in the brain and which processes decide whether a stimulus reaches awareness or escapes conscious perception. She is particularly interested in the question of how the neural signatures of conscious perception can be experimentally separated from those of closely linked cognitive processes, such as decision making.

The title of her talk is: Wie erzeugt das Gehirn Bewusstsein
