Visa Regulations
Applicants from the following countries of origin have to undergo an additional fingerprint-check (information from 2005). Delays can result for example if fingerprints have been taken incorrectly at the embassy and therefore have to be taken a second time. Also the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) takes about three months to process the fingerprints. It is therefore essential to apply for the visa well in advance, ideally 6 months before the begin of your studies.
