Educational science

Please note, that the mono bachelor "educational science" is solely instructed in German and therefore sufficient German knowledge is a key requirement for successful admission!

Which topics are addressed in educational science?

With 120 credit points, educational science course components makes up the clear focus of the course. Diverse educational topics from theories of education/education and upbringing (module 1) to child and youth welfare (module 4) to heterogeneity in educational processes (module 5) are dealt with here. Empirical research methods are taught in modules 2 and 8 in the basic and in-depth areas of the program (quantitative and qualitative methods).

Especially in the specialization/in-depth area (only in German) from the fourth semester onwards, students have the opportunity to set their own specific focus and to plan and carry out projects (only in German) in the modules 9 and 11 independently or with the support of a institute at the department. The guide for the transition from the basic to the advanced area of the study program can serve as orientation in order to design the further path of studies as individually as possible.
