Andrea Forster is a postdoctoral researcher within the project "Studienabbruch und Berufsaussichten. Experimentelle Studien zur Integration auf dem Arbeits- und Ausbildungsmarkt (ABBA-II)" at the Chair for Empirical Educational and Higher Education Research at Freie Universität Berlin since May 2021. After studying social sciences in Munich and Amsterdam (Netherlands), she worked from 2015 to 2021 as a doctoral and later post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, where she participated in research projects on transnational research into educational inequalities under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Herman van de Werfhorst. She received her PhD in 2021 from the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR) with the dissertation: "Navigating Educational Institutions: Mechanisms of Educational Inequality in Different Educational Systems".

Her research interests include social mobility, educational inequalities, the transition from school to work, the comparative study of educational systems, and quantitative methods of empirical social research.
