Effectiveness, dissemination and side effects of online interventions for social anxiety disorders and as a transdiagnostic approach

Treatments via the Internet make it possible to reach people who otherwise would not have access to psychological treatment, or would have difficulty accessing it. We focus on the effectiveness of innovative forms of therapy for social anxiety disorders, e.g. treatment via a smartphone app, and transdiagnostic therapy approaches. In doing so, we are investigating how well these approaches work and how they could best be integrated into health care.

In several studies in cooperation with Stockholm University, we investigate the extent to which participants of online therapy suffer from side effects of the treatment. We look at which kinds of adverse effects occur in which frequency and how they affect people's lives and treatment.
