Prof. Dr. Marianne Schüpbach Delivers Keynote and Co-Presents Symposium at the 42nd ANPEd National Meeting & WERA Focal Meeting 2025

From October 26 to 30, 2025, Prof. Dr. Marianne Schüpbach, Chair of the WERA TASK FORCE Global Research in Extended Education, delivered the keynote presentation entitled “Extended Education – Concepts and Terms, Methods and Practices from an International Point of View” at the 42nd ANPEd National Meeting & WERA Focal Meeting 2025, held in João Pessoa, Brazil.

The keynote session, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bee Leng Chua (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), explored international perspectives on extended education, discussing key concepts, methodological approaches, and practices shaping the field globally.

Additionally, Professor Dr. Schüpbach served as co-chair of the Invited Symposium: Exploring Issues of Quality in Extended Education Programmes, together with Prof. Dr. Kirstin Kerr (University of Manchester, UK) and Dr. Karin Lager (University of Gothenburg, Sweden). The symposium brought together perspectives from Germany, the UK, and Sweden to discuss key issues of quality and equity in extended education offerings.

The WERA Focal Meeting, presided over by Prof. Dr. Liesel Ebersöhn (University of Pretoria, South Africa), convened researchers and practitioners from around the world to share findings and foster collaboration in education research.
